How I gave myself Tinea versicolor and then cured it (again).

A decade ago I wrote this blog that has been an absolute gold mine for SEO and for documenting how Elk Haven Herbals was in the business of treating Tinea versicolor YEARS before big overseas corporate copy cats starting stealing our ideas. TVT’s success story has stood the test of time and is still curing Tinea versicolor more than a decade later. Since much of our growth was pre social media boom I decided to try something fun on my recent trip abroad where I was working in Bermuda and give myself Tinea versicolor once again. It was surprisingly easy. A few weeks of just regular lotion on my chest and the splotchiness returned. I usually use TVT anytime I’m going to be sweaty for long periods of time so it hadn’t ever come back prior to this so I was a bit surprised how easily it gets out of hand without some due dligence. It took a couple of weeks with TVT once I got back home to the US but voila! Less than a month and almost completely resolved save for a few dots where it’ll take time for the pigment to return. I made a quick video of my experience and now YAY! TVT exists on Instagram reels and Youtube shorts. Are we cool yet?
